Gnomes Away from Homes … at the Stadium
Today was a pretty busy day, but we still managed to find time to relax. Actually, when I say “busy” it just means we had to take a slightly shorter nap than usual. We did train twice, though, which isn’t that unusual for this team, but the second session was light and only lasted 45 minutes out on Wednesday’s game pitch. We have looked sharp and focused since we arrived in Tianjin, and you can feel the anticipation building as we near our opening group match on Wednesday evening against Argentina. This team is raring to go.

As we entered the stadium for training, our cameras were all out. Despite the bevy of experience on this team, this is the Olympics, after all, and we were all very impressed by our surroundings as we stepped out onto the pitch at the Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium. The cameras were quickly stowed in our backpacks, though, as we only had 45 minutes to train.
