Montreal, QC — The Montreal Impact launched their preparations for the 2008 on Monday at the Catalogna Soccerplexe in Montreal. Twenty players were on hand for the first practice as the Impact prepare for their first season at the new 13,000 seat Saputo Stadium.

Management is sparing no expense to ensure a successful season. Montreal has the best overall league record over the past four seasons but have not won a league championship since 2004. There would be no better way to inaugurate the new stadium then with a championship season.

To that end players have been signed to ten month contracts in contrast to the seven month contracts in the past. As well the team will make two trips to Europe for pre-season training and exibition games. The team will be in Italy from January 19 to February 1, and in Portugal, from February 17 to the 28. They will play 3 exibition games in each country.
