Langford Sports Complex, $15M Place To Play Soccer
Plans for a $15-million sports centre in Langford will be announced at a press conference today. City Centre Park will include two all-weather-turf playing fields, with the main stadium for soccer and football to feature a permanent 2,000-seat grandstand that would include dressing rooms, concessions and luxury boxes. Temporary seating could bring capacity up to 10,000 for big events.
The second turf soccer and football field would include two ball diamonds. Proposed within the complex are a 700-seat hockey, skating and lacrosse arena, 16-lane tenpin bowling alley and 16-hole mini golf.

The Victoria Rebels of the BC Junior Football Conference and Victoria Highlanders, a new franchise in the United Soccer League’s Pro Development Division, announced they will play at the new Langford stadium beginning in their 2009 seasons.
