SANTA CLARA, CA — The San Jose Earthquakes had found the going tough against Seattle Sounders FC this season, suffering defeats in their first two meetings. But on Sunday at Buck Shaw Stadium, the Quakes found a way to turn the tables, earning a 4-0 win over a 10-man Sounders side, with goals coming from four different scorers.

BRIDGEVIEW, IL — Chicago Fire midfielder Tim Ward had several scoring opportunities Saturday, but he made his contribution by setting up the game’s only goal. Ward sent a looping ball into the box from 25 yards out and forward Patrick Nyarko headed it past Real Salt Lake ‘keeper Nick Rimando in the 76th minute to give the Fire a 1-0 victory Saturday night at Toyota Park.
