SANTA CLARA, CA — The San Jose Earthquakes’ Jekyll-and-Hyde season was encapsulated in a 3-3 draw Saturday with the Chicago Fire. The home side took the lead on three different occasions, only to see the Fire come back each time, with Chris Rolfe’s strike with five minutes remaining giving the visitors the last word.

Real Salt Lake vs DC United
SANDY, UT — RSL claimed a second consecutive victory at Rio Tinto Stadium in dominating fashion on Saturday afternoon, beating DC United 2-1. Javier Morales scored the game-winner in the 80th minute after United’s Luciano Emilio and Jamison Olave netted two minutes apart in the first half, as the Utah side held United to a mere two shots on goal while producing eight of its own.

COLUMBUS, OH — The Columbus Crew couldn’t hold a lead for the second consecutive home match and saw their winless streak stretched to five games following a 1-1 tie with the Colorado Rapids at Crew Stadium on Saturday.

HOUSTON — After being dumped out of the playoffs last year by the New York Red Bulls, the Houston Dynamo came into Saturday night’s match at Robertson Stadium looking for revenge. But after a tough physical match played mostly in the midfield, the match ended in a scoreless draw.

SEATTLE — The Kansas City Wizards put a chill on the hottest team in MLS, the expansion Seattle Sounders FC, and took advantage of the early exit of Seattle goalkeeper Kasey Keller for a 1-0 victory in front of a third consecutive sellout crowd at Qwest Field on Saturday night.

Los Angeles vs Chivas USA
CARSON, CA — The Galaxy couldn’t capitalize on a 26-minute man advantage — then lost their advantage and played with man down for the final 11 minutes of the game. Fortunately, the Galaxy salvaged a 0-0 tie against Chivas USA in the first SuperClàsico of the year on Saturday night at The Home Depot Center.
