Seattle vs Los Angeles
SEATTLE, WA — After an entertaining first half, most of the action came in the referee’s notebook, as James Riley’s red card became the turning point as Seattle Sounders FC and the Los Angeles Galaxy settled for a 1-1 draw Sunday at Qwest Field. In all, referee Tim Weyland handed out eight cautions and one ejection as the Mother’s Day match descended into a second-half scrum.

Columbus vs Kansas City
COLUMBUS, OH — Eddie Gaven’s goal in the 78th minute proved to be the game-winner, as the Columbus Crew held on in a wild second half for their first win of the season, a 3-2 victory against the Kansas City Wizards on Saturday at Crew Stadium.

Chicago vs New England
BRIDGEVIEW, IL — The Chicago Fire are an MLS team steeped in tradition. They continued a new tradition Saturday against the New England Revolution.

After taking a first-half lead on a goal by Wilman Conde, the Fire gave up a goal early in the second half to New England’s Shalrie Joseph and settled for a 1-1 tie with the Revs. It marked the Fire’s fifth consecutive draw and sixth in eight games this season.

Houston vs Dallas
HOUSTON, TX — The Houston Dynamo and FC Dallas entered Saturday night’s match at Robertson Stadium with a number of streaks alive. Houston had won two games in a row and had not conceded a goal in 313 minutes. Dallas had lost its last two MLS matches and had never won at Robertson Stadium.

Chivas vs Salt Lake
CARSON, CA — Paulo Nagamura scored his third goal of the season as Chivas USA beat Western Conference rivals Real Salt Lake 1-0 at Home Depot Center on Saturday night.

The win improved Chivas USA’s record to 7-1-1 as the Red-and-White became the first MLS team to break the 20-point mark on the season.

E. RUTHERFORD, NJ — The New York Red Bulls exploded out of their offensive woes in a big way Friday night, scoring four first-half goals for the first time in club history en route to a 4-1 rout of the struggling San Jose Earthquakes at Giants Stadium.

Kansas City vs DC United
KANSAS CITY, KA — DC United defender Rodney Wallace scored in the 27th minute to open the scoring, and Josh Wolff answered for the Kansas City Wizards in the 52nd minute, before the teams settled for a 1-1 tie Wednesday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

SANDY, UT — Even with three of their best players sidelined through injuries or disciplinary action, Real Salt Lake looked like they would find a way to continue their home field dominance — until a series of late goals snatched away three points and left RSL with one.
