Toronto 1 Houston 1
TORONTO, ON — Defender Dan Gargan blasted a late equalizer as Toronto FC celebrated Canada Day with a bad-tempered 1-1 draw against the Houston Dynamo at BMO Field.
Brian Ching had headed the visitors into the lead off a corner kick in the 73rd minute.
The game was marred when Toronto designated player Julian de Guzman and Houston’s Joseph Ngwenya were both ejected in the 62nd minute. The scuffle resulted when Ngwenya and TFC defender Nana Attakora briefly grappled after Ngwenya kept running the ball goalward despite a whistle ending the play. De Guzman leapt in and put his hand on Ngwenya’s face.

CARSON, CA — Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle returned from the World Cup to a hero’s welcome on Sunday as the Los Angeles Galaxy beat Seattle Sounders FC 3-1 at the Home Depot Center. The pair teamed up for an early goal while Juninho added a long-range missile and LA also benefitted from a Seattle own-goal to complete the rout.

COMMERCE CITY, CO – The New York Red Bulls won a hard-earned point with a 1-1 draw away to the Colorado Rapids on Sunday despite the home side’s dominating large periods of the game.

CARSON, CA — Chivas USA’s six-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday evening as the Goats earned a well-fought 1-1 draw with the visiting Philadelphia Union.

SANTA CLARA, CA — Andy Najar, the 17-year-old product of DC United’s academy, volleyed home a 54th-minute goal to forge a 1-1 tie with the Quakes.

FRISCO, TX — Goalkeeper Kevin Hartman made critical second half saves against his former club and David Ferreira’s penalty kick held up as FC Dallas defeated the Kansas City Wizards 1-0 on Saturday night at Pizza Hut Park.

COLUMBUS, OH — Jason Garey scored in the waning seconds before the half and the Columbus Crew broke a long winless streak in the regular season to Chicago with a 2-1 win on Saturday night at Crew Stadium.

SANDY, UT — Four different Real Salt Lake players scored and Nick Rimando picked up his 100th career MLS win the easy way Friday night in a 5-0 rout over the visiting New England Revolution at Rio Tinto Stadium.
