Neil Embodied Work Ethic, Passion For Game

Andrea Neil is too much a member of the crew to ever rock the boat. But sometimes, even the shallowest comments leave a deeper impression, especially when a friend is involved.

Neil took her Canadian soccer career into retirement on Monday after playing for her country 132 times. It began against Jamaica in Haiti in 1991. It ended this Sept. 15 against Ghana in China.

That 132 games was more than any player, woman or man, in Canadian soccer history. It was two more than Nepean’s very own Charmaine Hooper. And it made the 36-year-old Vancouverite very sad.
