Highlights
45 min (2nd half) … Lynx Daniel Revivo GOAL
Lynx Kadian Lecky pushes ball forward on right at 20 yards. Lynx Vince Petrasso rolls cross through goalmouth and Revivo slid shot in from 1 yard on left post beyond goalie trapped on right.

49 min … Fever Robert Lynch GOAL
Fever Tyler McCarroll cornerkick from right has leaping Lynch head 6 yarder just under bar between goalie Nils Binstock and defender guarding left post.

61 min … Kadian Lecky Yellow card
Lecky is pushed ball into Fever box too far for him to get to and goalie JJ Billinski dives out to grab ball. Lecky kicks him rather than the ball. I thought he was kicked in the face but later realized it was probably the ribs. The goalie is badly injured and eventually both teams’ trainers come in to help. Billinski is helped from the field at 67 minutes. Fever were going to sub in Michael Walbridge for Adrian L’Esperance in the outfield but plans were changed. The Fever didn’t bring a substitute goalie so Walbridge pulled on a pinney (warm up vest for colour contrast) and put on goalie gloves. Billinski now had been helped back at his bench and insisted that he come back into the game and because he hasn’t been officially subbed off, he’s allowed to continue to play.

79 min … Lynx Daniel Revivo GOAL
Lynx Lloyd Grist from 30 yards on left sends Revivo a pass to edge of Fever box and his low 18 yard shot to just inside right post is beyond diving goalie.

89 min … Lynx Chris DeAbreu GOAL
Lynx Cameron Medwin cross from right sideline has Lynx Kadian Lecky chest ball down on edge of box and DeAbreu gets ball on edge of box and dribbles to control play then sends low 15 yard shot that’s under diving goalie.

99 min … Lynx RED card
Kadian Lecky picks up his second Yellow card for a hand ball while on a rush up the right sideline at 35 yards trying to push ball ahead past a defender. Referee Gianni Facchini ejects him.

102 min … Lynx Vince Petrasso GOAL
Lynx Cameron Medwin on 2 on 1 break rolls ball to Petrasso at 20 yards and his low shot is into right side of net. The Fever goalie couldn’t get down for it until too late.

102 min … game ends.

Notes
» Attendance was announced as 1295 on this warm sunny day. Today’s theme was School Day and the stands were full of school children.

» There was 11 minutes of injury time signaled at the end of 90 minutes mostly because of the goaltending injury. This was certainly a noble effort but backfired as the game continued as every time he dived for the ball, he aggravated his injury. JJ Billinski had made some acrobatic saves up to the time he was injured and the result was in doubt despite the Fever’s 1 win, 2 losses, 1 tie so far this season. First half shots on goal favoured the Lynx 11 to 5. Lynx outnumbered the Fever 10 to 1 in fouls in the second half.

» Speaking about injuries, Lynx forward Jean Tshimpaka had to be subbed in the first half which what looked like a finger in the eye. He played for another 12 minutes until taking a 7 yard shot while a defender was putting his weight on his back when he was injured again and subbed out at 30 minutes by Kadian Lecky. Lynx midfielder Kevin Omokhua was injured in the second half trying to keep the ball in play from the Fever end line and has to be subbed at 60 minutes. Now Lecky is gone for the next game because of the ejection so that may leave the Lynx short at forward if Tshimpaka misses any time. Kadian Lecky has played in the CSL for many years with the North York Astros and, last year, Italia Shooters.

» Fever could have changed the game because after Robert Lynch scored on the header at 49 minutes, Josh Sommers sent in a 50 yard freekick that had Lynch head a ball just wide left of the net at 60 minutes. At 72 minutes, Jessie Sharp had his 5 yard shot hit left goalpost after Lynch had run in along the left end line in the Lynx box and given him a pass.

» This was the first game of the season for the Lynx but most teams in their division have played three or four games already. Lynx late start, which they requested, gave them more team to have their team train after assembling after the college and university year ended. Now though they have played one of three home games within five days before going on the road.

» Next game for the Lynx is at the Varsity Stadium on Friday night against the Chicago Fire Premier at 7:30pm and then Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm at Centennial Stadium against West Michigan Edge.

» Lynx roster has been finalized since their press conference of just over a week ago when only 12 players were listed. Starters today were:
