Attendance was about 200 on this cool evening with it already being dark when the game started. A few of the Shooters players wore gloves. This game was rescheduled from Friday June 5th which would have been the White Eagles home opener but the game was cancelled after players, officials and fans showed up to find that the artificial turf was not finished being completely installed.

This was one of the most exciting scoreless ties that I’ve ever seen with rushes up and down the field even after the White Eagles were down a man for the last half hour of the game. At 63 minutes Shooters Mario Orestano’s 20 yard blast from the left had the flying goalie get a hand to on the left and hit the bar and deflect out of the box. In the same minute, Shooters Jason DeThomasis took a 25 yard blast from the left that hit the right post and deflected away. At 75 minutes DeThomasis chipped a pass from 20 yards on the left to Aundrae Rollins(?) on the right who took a 7 yard shot that eluded the goalie but SWE defender Mirko Medic cleared from 2 yards. At 81 minutes Kadian Lecky got the ball on a 1 on 3 rush and squeezed the ball past the defenders and took a 12 yard shot that hit the bar. At 85 minutes, Lecky intercepted SWE Mihajlo Bacanin’s header back to the goalie and his 15 yard shot was wide left of the open net. At 89 minutes Shooters Desi Humphrey rushed through players on the right and shot wide left from 10 yards.

White Eagles Jonathan Hurtis had about six chances on this own to score but had his shots stopped or sent them off target. Serbians had more of the goal chances for the time that the teams both had eleven players.

Goalies Marko Petrovic for White Eagles and Camilo Benzi for Shooters earned well deserved shutouts for their teams.

Both teams have earned playoff spots and both have one more regular season game this Sunday before the post season starts the week after. These teams could meet in the semi-final round if they get that far.
