The Canadian Soccer Association has announced the list of nominees for its 2011 Canada Soccer player awards. Canadian media and coaches will be asked to select two players – one male and one female – for the Canadian Soccer Association’s top prize, the BMO Canadian Players of the Year award. The award will celebrate Canada’s top-two soccer players in recognition of their 2011 achievements with both the national team and their respective club teams.
Canada needs him. He, apparently, now needs Canada. He would be a valuable addition to the national team, perhaps even a game changer.
Where Canada should play its home games has always been a bit of a thorny issue.
Canada has started to learn the lessons the Gold Cup taught, but they’ll need to do their homework in the winter friendlies. If not, they’re going to get schooled in the next round.
Be happy with the win. It was a good thing. But it didn’t “show” the naysayers anything new.

The basic fact is that Canada has qualified for the next round and has the chance to advance to the Hex next year. Over the 6 games though, it hasn’t really been impressive has it?
