Canada Soccer and the National Women’s Soccer League have announced the official list of allocated players for the 2016 NWSL regular season. Eleven Canadian internationals have been allocated to six different teams.
Thirteen Canadian internationals have been allocated to six different teams, and a total of 42 allocated National Team players will be participating in the upcoming season with 25 Americans, and four Mexicans also joining the league.
The second NWSL season is at hand and members of Canada’s Women’s National Team look to feature just as prominently in the league’s sophomore season as they did in the debut campaign last year.
The 16 Canada’s Women’s National Team players that will be featuring in this NWSL season are: Jonelle Filigno, Robyn Gayle, Selenia Iacchelli, Kaylyn Kyle, Karina LeBlanc, Adriana Leon, Erin McLeod, Diana Matheson, Carmelina Moscato, Rachel Quon, Sophie Schmidt, Desiree Scott, Lauren Sesselmann, Christine Sinclair, Chelsea Stewart and Melissa Tancredi.
The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) has unveiled the schedule for the inaugural 2013 season, which kicks off on Saturday, 13 April when the Portland Thorns FC (Karina LeBlanc, Christine Sinclair) visit FC Kansas City (Desiree Scott, Lauren Sesselmann).
