Toronto Waives Yourassowsky
Toronto FC announced that the club has waived midfielder/defender Mikael Yourassowsky.

Yourassowsky, 28, appeared in 21 league games and made 13 starts registering one assist. The Belgian native scored one goal for the Reds on July 2 against the Vancouver Whitecaps during the Nutrilite Canadian Championship.

Yourassowsky was in his first season with Toronto FC and in Major League Soccer.

Reds Reach Attendance High
Ticket sales for its CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal match against the LA Galaxy at Rogers Centre have passed the 25,000 mark, with more than 75% of the lower bowl sold out. Tickets went on sale exclusively to Toronto FC Season Seat Holders this past Monday and to the general public Friday morning.

The match will mark the first time Toronto FC plays a home game outside of BMO Field and is guaranteed to set a new home attendance record. BMO Field seats 21,140 and Toronto FC’s largest home crowd stands at 22,453, set April 13, 2011 vs. LA Galaxy.

Reds Select Five More
Toronto FC selected five players Tuesday in the MLS Supplemental Draft. These players, in addition to last week’s SuperDraft, brings Toronto’s overall college player haul to seven in 2012.

On Thursday in MLS SuperDraft, the Reds selected midfielder Luis Silva and defender Aaron Maund.

Joining them from the Supplemental Draft are midfielders Michael Green (New Mexico), Arthur Ivo (Southern Methodist) and Mike Mazzullo (Columbia); along with defenders Nickardo Blake (Connecticut) and Mykell Bates (Santa Clara).

“Each one of these players at some point during our scouting, either in the fall, winter or at MLS Combine, showed us something that made us take notice,” said Earl Cochrane, director of team and player operations.
